A New Chapter with Animation Mentor!

I am so incredibly excited to say that I have been officially accepted to enroll with Animation Mentor!!! I'm planning to register for the Summer 2019 term and I couldn't be more pumped.
AM has been something I've been always tossing around the idea of. I've always been curious about it, but because of circumstance, time, and money I was never sure if it would be the next best step for me.
I spoke with them at CTN along with a couple of other online schools and spoke to people who have taken the courses at Animation Mentor.
I finally came to the conclusion that this was the next step for me and so I applied last week and was contacted on Monday. I did try for advanced placement and I was placed into Course 01. I honestly expected this and I'm honestly grateful for it. I'm excited for it because I feel like I can for sure get the solid foundation that I need.
I can't say I didn't get a good education at SCAD. I most certainly did, however, now that I know for sure that I want to specialize in 3D character animation, I feel that AM will be what will help me clean up where I need to and start sharpening my skills and hone on the areas I need to work on to get that professional quality in my reel.
Even now, although I know I have improved my work greatly, I still feel that as I work that there are some things that I'm just not thinking about correctly. There are some times when planning a shot or watching my shot over where I feel there is something wrong and I can't quite pin point what I should be looking for. I feel that this is where I can get all that figured out.
I am so incredibly excited to take this next step in my Animation journey. I know that because of limits in my funds, I may not be able to take the full 6-course program at least right away. I may need to stop after the first 3 courses, and resume again later in the future, but for now it may be just what I need.
The future is still daunting as I continue to apply for every company I can find. But having this as part of my plan keeps my hope up and makes me feel reassured moving forward that I can keep working and keep in touch with a strong community who all love animation as much as I do.
