Animation for Games??
Came across this really insightful article about How Animation for Games is Different from Animation for Movies.
Although at this point I feel like I already have a good understanding of how and why these two are different, I feel like really diving into the differences to understand what exactly I should be practicing and the type of shots I should be putting on my reel is something to consider.
Lately, I've more and more been interested in wanting to do animation for game. Don't get me wrong, I would still love to do film animation and work for a feature production company, but as I begin to explore the industry, I really find gameplay animation fascinating.
Although of course you can get the best of both worlds and do animation for game cinematics, something about studying walk cycles, jumps, and idling animation intrigues me and it's something I'd like to try animating for myself.
Especially now with all of my quadruped studying, I feel like trying cycles for creatures and humans as well as actions in place that are the kinds used for game would be really helpful and fun to try out.
Internship applications are popping up and I'm starting to feel another kick to get more personal work onto my reel.
