Pink Panther Rig Test

We had to critique a downloaded rig for my Character Setup class. I picked Karim Kashefi's Pink Panther rig. I downloaded this over Christmas and still hadn't used it.

I was originally going to critique the Stewart rig, but I figured a lot of people would be choosing that one. (not that it matters).

I had fun animating this; perhaps too much fun. I ended up spending more time on this than I should've and even then I was trying to rush it so it's not as nice as I would've liked it to be. Also, lesson learned, that I should have just duplicated the sunglasses and keyed the visibility and then constrained it to a locator on the head control rather than constraining it to the head control. That way I would've had more control over the placement of the glasses.

But lesson learned. And to be honest, I'm not even sure how necessary it was for me to submit a real performance animation. I'm not even sure if I was supposed to even do that much.

Nonetheless, I enjoyed the process. I truly do love animating. I wish I could focus my whole quarter on just doing things like that. But I needed to be spending that time elsewhere this weekend, which is why I feel like I may have spent too much time on this. And even then, there’s tons of popping in this. (I animated straight in auto).

Maybe I'll go back in and clean it up some other time or extend it.
