Sit, Stand, Run WIP: Splining Round 2

I wasn't going to make another update until this was all the way finished, but I felt like this latest playblast was too important to not show.

This was such a significant difference from my last splined playblast and I'm really glad that it's come such a long way from that trainwreck.

There's still a lot to do with this and as you can see, I'm cutting the beginning down more and more as that's probably the least successful part and just isn't all that necessary.

I feel like there aren't as many glitches this time around and the timing has gotten a lot better. I took notes from a critique I got on this and I'm seeing everything that I need to fix. But it is undoubtedly better.

I was honestly so nervous with the last playblast that I was about to give up on this project entirely. I just felt like I had fallen into such a ditch with this that it just wouldn't get better. I felt so stuck and so lost as to how to get it out of that ditch that I just lost all motivation. I was so incredibly sluggish yesterday over working on this thing that I thought that that was it for me. But I am pleased to say that I worked on this a ton today and it was all worth it because I got over that big lump in the way of my progress and climbed out of that ditch.

It's always discouraging when you feel like you're failing or you're stuck or just not getting anywhere, but we need to push through. Because even if it ends in a total bust, at least you can say you finished it. And it's only going to get better with the next project.

And for example, this project just like all the rest will be another dud in a long line of other duddy animations that I'll be making, but of course, as I always have to remind myself, all these failures are necessary. And regardless, none of them are complete failures either. There are some strengths and tons of lessons learned from each project.

And even though this is far from a decent piece, it's still the best piece I have so far. (as I say for every most recent piece that I make).

I’m going to finish this tomorrow. Well, call it finished tomorrow. And then I'm sending my computer off for repair.

School starts in 4 days. I'm leaving in 2 days. The career fair is less than two months away. There's much to accomplish and much to learn.

Although I haven't really acknowledged the New Year on here or any goals, I feel like 2018 will be a good year. 2016 was a huge growing (and painful) year for me and 2017 was a much happier growing year. But I feel like 2018 will blow those two years out of the water and I'm looking forward to what is to come in just the next few months.
