Final Project Part 3: Animation Trial 1
So as it goes, it took me longer to animate this than expected. I started before noon on Saturday and worked in the lab all day. I didn't leave until a little after 11. On Sunday, I went in the afternoon after some errands and left some time after midnight.
It got to a point the first night, where I was getting sloppy and tired so I decided to stop before I created more work fixing the animation for myself.
I was satisfied to shoot it the next night. As always, volume and drawing craftsmanship issues. I'm worried I may have to redraw lots of things. But I was pleased with the ending after he hits his head. This was probably the smoothest and best timed part.
However, I made a big mistake in the middle part. I had completely forgotten to redraw the frames where he steps back. I had to bring my character into the center more to make that step less large and awkward- making it a step instead of a leap. That being said, I ended up drawing parts that were completely useless. So it didn't disappoint me too much when I played back the walk and it looked really bad (He leans far too much and isn't balanced) because I was just going to have to redraw it all anyway. His walk needs to be totally reset because he's not backing up as far.
So that's my goal for right now. Fix the walking backwards and adjust the timing of hitting his head against the machine.
And then VOLUMES, VOLUMES, VOLUMES.
