Back 2 School (in 1 week)

Next Thursday I'll be off to school again. Man does the summer just fly by. This is about the time where I look back sadly at the lack of accomplishments. But there's nothing I can do about time. I can't turn it back or extend it so in that case, I'm just going to instead be proud of what I did accomplish this summer. Although, I know for a fact that I definitely could have done more these past 3 months, I'm thrilled that I did anything at all and that I learned a lot.
Again, this is going back to what I have said in just about every blog post this summer, but I'm just trying to embrace the failure and keep making crappy work until it's not crappy anymore. I will continually say this no matter how annoying it gets because this is the mindset that I need to have. This idea is something that I need to constantly be reminded of because it's so easy to get discouraged and unmotivated when your work is bad or just isn't where you would like it to be.
I did not make anything spectacular this summer, but I made stuff. I touched programs I haven't touched before and watched lots of tutorials and took notes.
As I enter this new quarter, I have 2D principles to look forward to using good ol' paper and light board. Although I dread the idea of animating this way with no computer and therefore *gasp* no "undo" button, (what's this thing called an "eraser"?) and no drag/drop or copy/paste, I know that this is going to make me a MUCH better animator. Starting at basics. 2D or 3D, it's all animation. And learning to animate from here is just going to be so beneficial. I'll be learning basics and improving timing. Really, I couldn't be a good 3D animator without this class.
Excited and scared as always.
I'll definitely be posting the work I do for class on my blog again.
