Try to have fun with it

Doing something is better than nothing. This is actually from the character modeling tutorial thing that I was working on earlier this week. (That scary-looking thing with the eyeholes). It reminded me an awful lot of that thing from the Spongbob Squarepants episode, "Chocolate with Nuts". The infamous, "What? WHAT ARE THEY SELLING?!" line.

This episode is surprisingly underrated. When I type it into google, the most related things are see are of the fish character that screams, "CHOCOLATE!" the entire episode, when I honestly thought that Mary and her mother were far more memorable. But I digress...

So I got off of the tutorial, but I was making something. And it was giving me enthusiasm to work in Maya. So I'll take it. Sometimes, I honestly believe that's the best way to go. Find something you love and have a hankering for and just make it. It's still practice. And if you enjoy, the more you'll want to do it. Simple math.

I see a lot of cringe-y things with this. Aside from the lack of texturing. (believe me, I tried my hardest to put the texturing on, but I was lazy and just pulled stock bump maps and didn't UV, there's my error right there.

But I didn't want to spend more than one day on this thing. Also that crack in the bamboo, is kind of an eye sore, not gonna lie.

Nonetheless, I had fun.
